A number of special pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics are set to take place during the half-term holidays and Platinum Jubilee long weekend across Suffolk and north east Essex.
The aim is to make it as easy as possible for anyone aged 5+ to use these holidays as an opportunity to either get their 1st or subsequent dose of vaccine, so they and their families have the best protection from COVID and Long COVID over the coming months.
No appointment is needed, and locations include the Suffolk Show, Northern Gateway Sports Park in Colchester, Felixstowe Carnival, Park Pavilion Harwich and Haverhill Arts Centre.
These pop-ups are in addition to the appointment-based vaccination sessions which can be booked via the national booking website or by calling 119, and many other walk-in sessions happening across the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care System (ICS) area.
All dates, times and locations, along with eligibility criteria can be found at www.sneevaccine.org.uk or by calling the local helpline number on 0344 257 3961 – this is also the number to call if you have any concerns or questions about vaccination. The helpline is open seven days a week, including every day over the Jubilee holiday weekend.
Lisa Nobes, chief nurse for the Suffolk and North East Essex ICS, said: “I know some people think it’s too late now to get vaccinated, that the pandemic is over, so why bother.
“To those people I say, please bother. Just because COVID isn’t top of the news agenda anymore it doesn’t mean it has gone away. The virus is still very much with us, it is still making people very ill, it is still leaving people with the distressing Long COVID, and, yes, it is still killing people.
“So please take advantage of these additional holiday pop-up clinics to get your vaccination. It’s never too late. Please do it to best protect yourself, your family and your community.”
