Management of Outbreaks of Acute Respiratory Illnesses in Care Homes Out of Season and In Season; In hours and out of hours (MOARCH Service).
This year we have commissioned Commisceo to provide a bespoke service for the management of outbreaks of acute respiratory illnesses that occur in Suffolk Care homes. The service includes swabbing symptomatic residents and if required providing antiviral drugs for the prophylaxis and treatment of influenza.
The Suffolk CCGs have designed an algorithm/flow chart, which details the full process that Care home staff should follow, when there is a suspected respiratory outbreak. In addition, it includes guidance on the roles that the local Health Protection Team (PHE) and Commisceo undertake. Care Home actions are coded in yellow.
If you experience any issues with this service, please contact Commisceo in the first instance to try to resolve.
If for any reason there is not a resolution, please contact the CCG on the below contact details.
Thank you for your continued support in promoting the importance of flu vaccinations for your residents and staff to reduce the risks associated with flu.
