- FTE – Full Time Equivalent; the measurement of posts or jobs. Also known as Whole Time Equivalent or WTE
- units providing a range of services for young children and their families, for example day care and drop-in facilities

- Guideline Careers Service – a company which links career guidance to the needs of local employers and the areas’s economic development. It works in partnership with Training and Enterprise Councils, the local authorities and education and business groups
- Gynaecology – the study of diseases of women and girls, particularly the reproductive organs
